Does that make me a "real"gardner now??

Hubby and I levered out a great big shrub to replant elsewhere, I had the
garden fork, he had the spade, when we had finished, I put my fork down
into the grass as is my habit, and then owwwwwwww, my feet were in the way,
he rushed over, quickly took my trainer and sock off, and the tine had
skimmed my big toe, a centimetre to the right and I'd be in casualty, cor,
it didn't half hurt. Which now reminds me, when was my last tetanus
injection???

You need a pair of these for serious gardening....

A lot cheaper then the useless stuff sold in Garden Centres, they come up
big IME so don't order a bigger size just for warm socks to fit.

If it makes you feel better, apparently if you've had all of the tetanus
jabs you are meant to have when you've had them, you don't need any more
after the one you had just before leaving high school (so I was told by the
doctor when Nick's mum nagged and nagged and nagged me about something until
I went to the doctor!)

Oh, are they back to claiming lifetime immunity, then? I remember
when it was 3 years, then 5, then 10, then life, then back to 10,
and now it seems to be life again! Anyway, I have had at least a
dozen :-)

Lightheartedly,

From personal experience, because I am a sometimes clumsy lump, I think it
is wise to garden cross dressing between a cricketer(box) a footballer(shin
pads) a miner(hard hat) a builder (steel toe caps) a skier(glasses(eddie
the eagle)) a surgeon(gloves) a rugby player(shoulder pads) a BMX rider(arm
and knee pads) tennis(net to keep wasps away) a Hannibal Lecter mask to
scare the neighbours.
Failing that just keep your eyes skinned for dangers. I have had a few
knocks myself and seen others do the most basic errors.

Hope your big toe is getting better.

Baz
