Bloody cold in the greenhouse. Dropped from 6 to 4 whilst I was working in
there. Spent 2 hours and my toes, fingers and bum all felt like they were
going to drop off!

Managed to pot up all of the lavender that we bought for Nick's bees a few
weeks ago that have been sitting out in the cold feeling unloved. 50p for 6
plants, in various conditions. Had 4 lots of them. Got 14 good ones that
look like they will survive, the rest are put together in a pot of mostly
dead ones.

Planted 6 garlic cloves that had sprouted and weren't put in the garlic
bread last night into tall pots. Have to confess, I don't know how garlic
grows. Onions you plant near the surface and just kinda swell up. BUt
garlic should be deeper? But does it go further down, or grow from where
the clove is planted?

Anyhow. Then I split and potted up the Accidental Cabbages (which are
Portugese cabbage, iirc - which got wet in the packet last autumn and
sprouted, so I put them all into a pot and assumed they would die, but they
have come along well. So now I have about 30 little cabbages in pots.

Time to defrost my bum.

Grows from where you planted it. So the grown bulb will be under the ground
and will need digging up, it will not push up above ground like an
onion/shallot.

*nod* I always put my onions in too deep, but garlic goes 'missing'. Hence
why I hae a whole row of new garlic plants this year where last year's were.
