Broccoli - any that you can harvest the same year as sown?
 
Does anyone know of a strain of Broccoli that flowers in the same year it
is sown?

Not strictly broccoli but "Autumn Calabrese" is very quick to grow.
Sow now and July would be right to harvest although it says autumn.
As with most brassiccas plant very firmly indeed and a liquid fertiliser
is advised.

There are now varieties of purple sprouting broccoli that will produce
shoots in the same year without having to overwinter. I haven't tried
any myself (yet) so can't say if the taste is as good or not.
Sutton's have one in their seed list: http://tinyurl.com/72b2mux and no
doubt the other main companies have similar.
