Bramley apples?
 

There is no bloom on the bramleys so far, am I expecting it too early?

I have pruned the thing recently, have I done that at the wrong time?

My three year old Bramley - on dwarfing stock - has been smothered
with blossom which is now giving way to applets galore. This is in
Plymouth where we've been having the most unbalanced of weather
for several years now.

One problem my fruit trees have been having over the past
five years is a meagre 'June drop,' I'd always understood that
the 'drop' was nature's way of removing any fruit beyond the
trees capability of maturing; now I'm not so sure.

Last year for instance when I was away for several weeks,
I returned to find three branches of overladen Victoria plums
had snapped or torn. There had been an absolute minimum of 'fall.'


Not that I'm complaining you'll understand :-)
