Time's getting short - PLEASE stop raining!

I go on holiday in 2 weeks, and have yet to plant any veg!

I had a landscaper in to sort out the terracing of the veg patch, he was
supposed to have finished early April, giving me six weeks to plant
everything, he finished last Tuesday, and since then it's been raining!

I've managed to plant out some broad beans and peas that I planted in
toilet rolls, plus I risked a row or two of broad beans on Sunday
evening, even though the ground was rather wet.

I have a load of carrots in toilet rolls ready to go in, but really need
to get the ground raked out fine and be able to plant parsnips, carrots,
and all the brassica's.

This weekend is out, as it is grandaughters birthday party, so we are
off abroad to England!

Plus of course before I go, the lawns will need mowing (although have a
wonderful neneighbor who enjoys mowing lawns (strange man!), the fruit
cage roof's need putting on, lettuce and peas and French beans planted.

The way things look at the moment, I suspect we'll be without home grown
veg in the autumn, unless I can buy some plants in mid-June when we
return.

Anyone any radical suggestions as to how to dry out the soil quickly?
