Flamingo Flower - What's Wrong?!
 

Hi, I'm hoping someone here can help identify what's wrong with my Flamingo flower that was purchased at the start of the year.

When purchased this had lovely red/pink leaves, but now has gone yellow and looks like it is dying?

I have read that this flower likes warm, moist and dark conditions, I guess similar to those found in a rain forest?

I have fed it, mist the leaves daily, and it is now located in a dark area of my kitchen at around 16-20 degrees.

Any suggestions on what may be wrong?

Looks like water logging.
I see that it's standing in a pot, are there pebbles or something in the
bottom to stop water collecting in the bottom and siphoning up into the
roots of the plant?

Yes, it is standing in another pot which has a hole in the bottom, and pebbles both underneath and surrounding it (as suggested by an article online), so very good drainage.

It has been watered quite well however, as was recently re-potted.

Would you suggest perhaps a week or so of just misting the leaves, and not watering, to see if it picks up at all?

Any other suggestions?

Anthurium - Flamingo flower
Watering:
Anthurium’s should be thoroughly watered, but allowed to dry out
slightly between waterings.
If the plant is allowed to be dry for too long it will greatly
decrease growth and cause the
tips of the leaves to burn and damage the roots. Over watering also
damages the roots and
causes the leaves to turn yellow and fall.

Soil:
The soil should be well draining and coarse and should consist of 3
parts of peat, one part
small gravel and one part sphagnum moss that has been chopped into
small pieces.
A small amount of organic potting soil can also be added to the mixture.
Younger plants don’t need a soil that is as coarse as more mature
plants need.
The soil should completely fill in all the area around the roots and
you should always use
a pot that has a hole in the bottom for drainage.

Yes to not watering and merely misting rather gently. Don't water it again till the root ball is dry.

And take it away from the dark corner of the kitchen and put it in a North window - ie give it more light but don't put it in full sunlight,

If it were mine I would cut off the worst of the yellow leaves. They
are not going to recover but are sapping the plant's strength.
