Many plants in the wild are poisonous, yet rabbits thrive. How do they manage?

I think if you plant a shrub in your garden that is tasty to rabbits, and expose it to rabbits, you won't have said shrub for very long.

Lettuce is supposedly toxic to rabbits. But they eat it. They used to
decimate my mother's tomatoes, despite tomato leaves being supposedly
toxic to rabbits.

If you have a pet rabbit, then maybe try entering "plants toxic to
rabbits" in your search engine and you'll probably find a decent list
of things to avoid. If you're worried about wild rabbits, plant what
you like as they don't seem to mind.

Cheers, Jake

But won't they just eat it to extinction if you find one?

We had an inherited pet rabbit who lived to the age of 11, completely freerange by day in
both his previous owners garden and our own. He neither died of poison plants nor turned the
gardens to a desert.

But did you have 86,329 of them by the time he died?

Persumably there was access for females to get into the garden, though.
And HE would be equipped to reproduce an awful lot quicker than a female when
given access to the opposite gender.
