Default Saturday weather. What have you got and where is it going?

Wet and windy here on the South East Coast of the Isle of Wight

What have you got and where are you?

Might be an idea to use this posting to progress any bad weather as/if it
sweeps across the country. 'Fore warned is fore armed.

Snow? Where is it?

Keep warm folks

Mike

Cool, temp hovering around freezing, (-0.4C min 0.7C max since midnight).
Wind was F4 SSE'ly until just before midday when it dropped to F2 and
E'ly. Brief sunny intervals bit misty. There might have been "something
in the air" when I went out to the compost bins an hour ago.

Snow? Where is it?

We had a heavy dusting yesterday morning that lasted a few hours.

The 5 min radar shows some light showers slowly approaching from the SE
but nothing that looks like Snowmaggedon. B-) The depression shows
nicely over Cornwall and there is some heavyish precipitation in the
Bristol/Cardiff area.

Keep warm folks

Wood burner lit... as it has been pretty much every day since the
begining of November. Has 7kW boiler attached which reduces the oil
consumption noticeably. B-)

1400' in the middle of the North Pennines.

snowed heavily here this morning, and until about 3.30pm then sun and
clear sky almost. Snow lay but trees and shrubs dripping quite fats even
though car says it is 0 degrees. Snow forecast tonight again but hasn't
arrived yet.
Country roads were made driving a trifle hairy as the snow was quite
thick where there was little traffic.

Not enough to harm shrubs at the moment, thank goodness, though bahs of
compost are frozen solid.

Still, on a brighter note, my seeds from Fothergills, Derry Watkins, the
AGS and um, I forget, have arrived so I can at least wriote the labels
in preparation.
No sign of the free seeds from Mr f that was on the special offer nor
the two free packets of tomato seeds I was promised for their website
being slow...

Not much here- couple of inches at the most. But very cold, so it's still here on day 2 and doesn't look likely to melt. Feel sorry for my son who left for work at 2.30 am.

It always sounds worse in cm "up to 10 cms" - then you realise that's a piddling 4 inches.

Our order from Derry arrived the other day, too. Ray spent hours
putting them in and writing out the labels! But it's an exciting time
of year. They're even pricking out some things now and his tomato
seedlings are 2" high in the prop. house. The cycle starts again!

It's cold here this morning but a brilliant blue sky, so far. But
there are clouds coming up from the south west. The question is, will
they be rain or snow clouds, if anything. Probably rain. ;-(
