Miscanthus sinensis Flamingo
Has anyone grown this? I've read that it has lovely pink/purple flower
heads but have also read that it doesn't flower well, if at all, in UK. Anyone know? -- Sacha www.hillhousenursery.com South Devon www.helpforheroes.org.uk |

Anyone know? No, I don't know, but if it's anything like the 'pink' versions of pampas grass, it'll be somewhere between disappointing and absolutely awful! Having said that, the RHS give it an AGM, so maybe it's not too bad http://apps.rhs.org.uk/plantselector/plant?plantid=5849 Nothing like pink pampas in terms of that overblown look!! ;-) I've seen a photo of it on Jelitto's page and then looked it up further on Google. It's rather pretty but if it's tender, there's no point planting lots of it here. -- Sacha www.hillhousenursery.com South Devon www.helpforheroes.org.uk |
