Change in the air?
 

It's impossible to pin down but both of us feel there's a very slight
'softening' in the air today. It's still terribly cold (3C) but
somehow, there's a feel of change. It may be because the sky has risen
by a few feet and we can actually see other colours than monotone grey
in all directions!

I agree, I think that we are coming to the end of winter, Spring is
around the corner. fingers crossed.

I put some washing out today for the first time this year and got most
of it fairly dry, apart from towels. No tumble drier so fresh air
beats having it hanging around indoors. There was quite a good breeze
blowing,but still pretty cold.

I dry it outside on suitable days, all through winter... windy cliff
top is ideal spot so long as you have pegs strong enough for the job.

Today's load flew horizontal in strong icy east wind but dried well,
soft and smooth as a baby's bum.

I lived in Berlin for a while. The first Winter we put the clothes out
to dry. Late afternoon when we took them in they were as stiff as
boards, also when thawed they were as wet as when they went out. It
shows that "cold" depends where you live!

It really finally seems that spring is about to come!! :)

Getting a glimpse at the sun alone really raises my spirits.

I feel like I haven't experienced the touch of the sun for ages..

There may well be some "softening in the air" down in Devon
but elsewhere the tendency seems to be a prolonged "hardening".

Perhaps Sacha could send some of her softened air up here,
if she can spare a bit - that is -- lol

It's been snowing off and on all morning here, though not settling, and the lying snow is slowly shrinking. Still need wellies to go out and pick a bay leaf.

I don't like drying towels and things rock hard in the air they are so
rough and scartchy then. Prefer tumble drying them and also all my gym
wear and t shirts would need ironing of i didn't dry them quickly in the
tumble dryer!!

My gardening gloves are taking an AGE to dry oputside at the moment.
They can't be dried on direct heat or they go all horrid and stiff and
unbending but the gold ones are really warm more so than thermal gloves!
