I know roses are difficult to ID but I wonder if anyone has a clue
about this one. Apparently it's very fragrant and thorny, is cut back
to about 1' every year and romps away like a mad thing. It's not ours
but belongs to the people who make the garden obelisks.

Could it be R. 'Compassion'? It looks very like mine at that state of
openness. The colour softens as the bloom ages.

Could it be R. 'Compassion'? It looks very like mine at that state of
openness. The colour softens as the bloom ages.
