it's slightly cooler to start the day! I'm certainly not complaining
about the sun but the lack of a breeze has been a bit wearing! Today we
have one plus a bright blue sky and we're thankful!

Cooler? not so here in South Wales, well yes it is 1f lower than the
same time yesterday but less of a breeze than we had yesterday.
We reached 84f for the 2nd day in a row, to hot to plant though I did
get a load of pots filled and then plunged once the sun lowered, but I'm
finding this working till almost 10pm every day a bit much, by the time
I have got food and managed to eat it I'm crawling off to bed around
midnight to 1am.
Getting sick of hearing "I wish I had your job"
But with the recliner out the field together with a good book, a flask
of drink, the radio and a few peaches I am making the most of it.
One thing, I went to get a few bales of peat yesterday and it was lovely
to handle, it was dry and so nice and light.
David @ the tropical Swansea Bay where there will be plenty of room on
the sandy beaches for all who want it.

We have 2.5 hours of motorway driving to look forward to. I'm so glad
it is cloudy and hope it stays that way.

We have the same soon and back in the same day. ;-( At least the car has a//c.

Same here; cloudy with a light breeze and much more pleasant to work in.
We had just a very few tentative specks of rain earlier, around
lunchtime, but certainly nothing that would perk up any parched plants.

This morning I thought we might have a nice cool, breezy day but the
hopes were dashed by mid morning and I've been splashing on the factor
20 all day. Trees are shedding leaves like it's autumn. Even
established plants are wilting and whist the lawns can brown off, the
sprinklers are doing duty each evening watering the beds and borders
in rotation.

I noticed that the forecast says we're getting a thunderstorm (or lots
of rain at least) on Monday. It'll be welcome if it comes but then we
were supposed to have a short spell of rain last Thursday. If we did,
it was so short as to be un-noticeable.

I suppose the main gripe is the rising humidity which makes nights
particularly uncomfortable. A nice bit of thunder will deal with that.
And a bit of rain will interrupt the interminable smell of burning
burgers and stuff on the barbies!

A good thing to do is put a BIG plastic bottle of ice in front of a good
sized fan directed at your bed.
It melts fairly quickly, but hopefuly you will be asleep by then.
Put your next days underwear and shirt in a bag in the fridge before you go
to bed, and then after your morning shower and dried off, put them on.
Ecstasy, for a short time.
Put your outer clothes on at the last minute before going to work.

It helps me and ours.

Chenies plant fair was very busy until about 1.30pm then the sun came
out and everyone wilted off back home It's really difficult to be out
in this heat without a breeze or anything.

It's not an option for me. I wilt as fast as the plants do, probably
faster! Today is a bit humid which is also a horrible feeling, imo!
It's going to be 'interesting' to see what the next few days bring!
