Heavy Showers

Well here near Swansea Bay we are wondering where all this talked about
Rain is, we have had 3 short sharp showers so far today, hardly enough
to lay the dust, but certainly not enough for me to be able to forget
about watering the dahlias out the field.
The ground is still cracked and washing the car did nothing except a
clean place for the privet flowers to fall onto.

David try this site.

Feed your Post Code in where it says for a real local situation.

I used it a short while ago to put some painting I had done put away and the
car put away in the garage.

At this end we've so far had 6 heavy bursts, lasting for about 5
minutes each but interspersed with lighter rain or drizzle.
Interestingly, during the heavy bursts the wind dropped and the
rainfall was almost vertical. But during the light/drizzle periods the
wind has been picking up a fair bit and the grass around trees is
looking a bit autumnal! Leaf raking's on the agenda for tomorrow.

I use http://www.raintoday.co.uk/ so know where the rain is, but as
Swansea is the wettest city in the UK it seems strange we are missing
just about all of what is around, but as I write this we are having the
heaviest shower/rain that we have had in weeks.
What I gave the dahlias today wont be wasted as they all had a liquid
feed with it.
Sounds as if you are having more rain than us Jake.

The dust got washed away last night... 49 mm recorded here between
0200 and 1100. Carlisle got 73 mm in 12 hours. South Tyne responded
by rising over 6' in two hours, back down to 0.7 m or so 6 hours
later, middle of the normal range.

It rained so much yesterday evening that my bay window leaked.
I can't find out and neither can any builders how to cure it. I only know
that it has to be mega rain for it to happen.
It's quite a PITA as I have to put a plant trough on the back of
my settee and there was 2 inches of water in it this morning.
