Toad arrival
 
Not a sign of one yesterday and this morning there's about a dozen in
the pond and several lumps of spawn. Talk about a busy night...

"Lumps" of spawn? Toad spawn is in strings. Spawn in lumps is frog

Yes and I should have written frog arrival. We haven't seen toads for
about two years, I should think.

Read in the local paper that they have already closed the road
around the lake in Llandrindod Wells to protect the frogs/toads
form us mad motorists! They do it each year.
