It's absolutely tipping down with rain here and there's low cloud
stretching into an infinitely grey horizon. I do hope it's going to
perk up for the week end! Ah well, less outside watering to do!

Of course it is, the Daily Express predicted flooding all over the UK,
and we all know that their weather forecasts are never wrong. TIC

Did they report or predict a Lightning Strike on the Isle of Wight?

Grey and cloudy, but DRY here. Met office web site this morning
predicted heavy rain all day (80% probability), so far a brief
shower just before lunch and that is it!

Just looked at teh rainfall radar, and that implies it should
have been raining here for the last hour! I suppose the saying
about sunshine on the ...... may be relevant :)

Nice to start with here, went and planted out our tomatoes on the plot and
put up all the bean poles as they need to be planted out soon. A few spots
of rain on the way back but it's tipped it down for a while since, coupled
with thunder and lightening. Sun is out again now with only a few fluffy
white clouds.

My monthly trip over here has coincided with this wretched weather. I've
had to rearrange the trip about three times to avoid other engagements
and the one period that I can come has this wet and windy weather.

I arrived yesterday and will be returning on Sunday. So imagine my
irritation when I have around 2 acres of grass to cut and vines to
spray. Despite the wet I've been mowing and having to dodge the showers
and de-clog the mower at frequent intervals. Still even that is
preferable to leaving it and then doing it even more slowly with a
brush-cutter - which is what I had to do last year!

But the impression I've got is that Normandy has had more damp weather
than southern England. Emery, am I right? The house feels damp and the
auge is full (since it has a leak it is rarely full).

Ha! Well, the sun did come out mid-afternoon but we're forecast more
rain tonight. Ray reckons about 1" fell last night.

Holds hand up and waves, certainly made the task of House,Dog and
Chicken sitting very pleasant. The Jack Russels have an acre or two to
run around in and keep each other exercised but warm weather means you
can leave the house door open without worrying about having to grab
towel or two for a wet dogs.
OTOH I had forgotten what a pain it is to water a large plot with a
place that has very low water pressure so the rain which arrived on
Thursday was not completely unwelcome.
But generally it was a very nice week, even when I crossed the border
into Cornwall.
