I know id-ing roses is difficult because there are thousands but has
anyone an idea what this climber might be? Ignore the thicker, stronger
stems which belong to 'Seagull'.

I showed the posting and picture to my wife who has been a keen gardener for
over 50 years, many of them with a love for Roses and she just remarked that
there are thousands of them.

Thanks, Charlie but not enough scent, I'm afraid. This one's perfume is
very slight, though it's very floriferous.

what about Caroline Testout?

Not great on the climbers, we mostly grow ramblers here as they do so much
better

That's a definite maybe. It's not tall-growing or over-vigorous and the
slight scent fits, too. If you're coming this way any time, we hope
you'll do a personal inspection! Thanks, Charlie.
