Mystery houseplant: please ID
 

Dear All,
Can anyone identify this houseplant for me? It has just flowered for
the first time. Here are 5 pics of varying quality taken from
different angles.

The plant is Eucharis amazonica or Eucharis x grandiflora. See here for
further info:

You should find that it has a rather strange scent, which some like and
some don't. I have grown this plant for many years, and it seems to
flower when it wants to, sometimes more than once a year, sometimes
missing a year or two. It will slowly bulk up, and after a few years you
will have several bulbs to give away.

Not sure if it's the same Lily or not, but two reactions we have found, 1)
Is that if you brush by and get the yellowy pollen onto a white or cream
coat or cardigan, the pollen stains and does not come out and 2) One of my
daughters is allergic to it and even if the plant is in the house, she comes
out in a rash. She has a large bed of Lilies next to the stream running
though the garden and she steers clear of them. (Not sure if they are the
same Lily)

Unfortunately the label read "Nile Lily". Its writer must have had
the right idea, just the wrong river!
