Rain, Rain and more rain

Yesterday we had a really foul day, it started raining here at around 10
am and didn't stop till after 4.30pm, most of it was torrential or
worse, in all we had 1.8 inches of rain.
I've never seen the water running off the fields so fast, in fact going
visit the wife in Hospital yesterday there were 4 places along our lane
where there were water gushers coming onto the road, and further along
the water was coming up out of the drains and manhole covers.
The motorway was down to a 40 mph speed limit all the way from Cardiff,
so I learned later.

The same here in Cornwall, and now today it's snowing. Wonderful.

I hope your wife is okay?

Sorry to hear about your wife. I hope she is getting better/recovering?

Pretty well the same here yesterday in NE Leics. Daren't even go and see
whether I can get down to village under the railway bridge that floods every
time we get 2 hours of heavy rain.
It was flooded last Friday. I made the 2 mile detour, but coming back I
risked it. Low gear, high revs, got through OK. Bad decision. My car is
now hiccuping up the road :-(

I think it was worse in Wales though - saw some pics yesterday from someone
I know who lives on a farm near Cardiff. The road to their farm is up neck
in water, totally impassable.
February filldyke living up to it's reputation.
