Default Tree grafters near Newcastle?

Michael Bell wrote in
. uk:

I am running a breeding project which involves selecting seeds of
alder in the autumn, growing them in heat and under light over the
winter and grafting them onto "adult" trees in the spring, to produce
cones and catkins which produce new seeds the next year, so shortening
the breeding cycle from 7 years to 2 years.

But I am having great difficulty getting such grafts to take.

Can anybody help?

It would be sensible to start your own thread rather than hijack/bifurcate
