Peas - netting - pollination
 

I have made a cage with approx 1cm square netting to keep birds off peas.
I was just inspecting them - and a bee approached cage and then buzzed off. He
would have not got through.

Does such small netting stop the pollination of the flowers significantly?

My fruit cage netting is that size, and I get plenty of
Raspberries, blackcurrants etc. Main problem is in the autumn,
when the wasps are about, they get in, but enjoy the fruit so
much they wont leave!

I suspect that when they can detect the pollen, they'll find
their way in.

Thanks: I have now lifted the bottom half of the netting to make sure they can
find their way in - probably not necessary from what you say.
