Identify slow growing climber please
 

have a variegated leaved climber which hasn't flowered for some years,Not vigorous the leaf is the size of an old penny, green with gold about 50/50.
can anyone identify the plant and name it for e please? Have plenty of ordinary 'lonicera' so can see its not that

That's not an awful lot to go on, Don. A description of the flower, or
better still, a photograph would be helpful. Have you ever seen it in
flower? When does it flower? Are you sure it does flower? I'm
inclined to assume that it may be slightly woody after "some years"; is it?

Possible reasons for any plant not flowering a-

Plant is too hungry (a high potash feed next spring would help).
Too much shade (not enough sun to ripen the 'wood' to encourage
flowering). Reduce shade around it if possible, or move the climber (if
possible - climber may be too old and established).
Not enough water. Many plants will abort their flower buds in droughty
conditions, or fail to produce them in the first place. Because climbers
tend to grow up walls/fences/trees, their water supply is diminished by
the structure and, in the case of tree support, shared with the
structure. This is natural, but since you ask more of your climber than
nature does, you need to supplement both its water and food supply.

Don't rush to feed it now; you may do more harm than good. Let's hope
someone here can identify it first.

Incidentally, it helps to know roughly where in the country you are, as
milder parts of the country allow more exotics to grow.

sorry,cant work out how to load picture ,
but position is shaded so take on your comments, but dont recall when it was in front garden climbing in a sunny part that it flowered!

We all know a man with brown hair, he's about medium height. From
that description, can you identify and name him?

You'll need to provide more detains ; height, spread, shape of leaf,
pattern of variegation, annual/perennial, evergreen/deciduous, flowers,
any fruits or seed pods. Your location might eliminate some
possibilities.

It sounds like it may be one of the climbing variegated forms of Euonymous
japonica
