I saved a few hundred seeds of these in the summer but I now get the feeling I'm going to be over run with them without trying. I don't mind stuff like this growing between paving, I've ended up with dozens of clumps of forget-me-nots that have self seeded, so the blues and yellows next year should look OK. One side of my (90% paved) garden has half a dozen medium sized shrubs, each planted where one stone has been removed. Last year I had the bright idea of sprinkling some 'wild flower mix' - 50p from one of the cheapo shops - all around each shrub. The results were stunning, purples, yellows, reds and blues all at different heights and shapes, almost all of these left masses of seeds behind so I've a feeling next year should be interesting, given that it seems every seed that blows in takes a hold between the paving stones. still got lots of Verbena growing vigorously but no flowers, don't know whether to put them in the greenhouse or throw them. Chilli pepper that I sown in October now over a foot tall (indoors) - I'm trying to get it well established ready for summer - greenfly always wipe mine out before they reach this height when I start them off in spring |

We were in Anglesey Abbey (Cambs, not Wales for those who don't know)
and there were a few snowdrops out, together with some hellebores. They have a lot of different snowdrops, these may have been special ones. Andy |

I'm a bit further south! I can equal the 2 colours of sshizostylis and several hellebores. Have a wall basket with bacopa still blooming and surfinia trying to! Also a white argyranthemum, (the grey leaved white daisy), in a pot on my patio! also ipheon in a pot and the garrya eliptica looking really good. Just waiting for a frost!!! Pam Flowers on rosemary Well this is another strange winter so far, if that parses. Only one frost and that was spotty. Some like cyclamen or nandina which would normally be flowering are not, (though the nandina has many more berries than usual), some others are really early (or late), daffs are 6-8 inches high but I haven't seen a crocus up yet. Here's from a quick tour on Jan 1 (if I saw flowers, I wrote it down!): 'Paper Narcissus' daffs Rosemary Parsley Fuschia Snowdrops (lots and lots) Geraniums Iberis Lavender (just some remaining shoots that haven't set seed yet) primroses (cultivated, the wild are up but not blooming) viburnum x bodnantense berberis darwinii kerria japonica Field mint (Mentha arvensis) Erigeron karvinskianus (Mexican Fleabane, mostly still going strong) various hellebores pieris japonica Roses (a few here and there) Chaenomeles (full of flowers) Violets Hazel Laurel and Bay are nearly flowering, the laurel has set tall spiky buds.
