All fixed although getting one of the triangle shapes cut was amusing,
sizes given were 610 x 520 x 8 mm so I had drawn the shape (a triagle
with a small corner cut off) and written the numbers next to the sizes.
when the glass cutter came back I could see straight away the shape was
wrong so I queried it and she said " thats what you gave me 610mm x
520mm x 8 inches!!" she was a good bit younger than me so I was a tad
surprised. I have not given glass measurements in inches for a good 20 years

Gardening! We've had three dry days in succession, first time all
winter. Catching up with hacking back and all the stuff that's been
rained off for months and now sitting down with cup of tea, stinking
after a huge bonfire. Yes, it is slightly breezy ; John's ayles-skiff
practice cancelled ; but on the plus side I got two loads of washing dry
and ironed/flattened smooth by the wind on the line, and back indoors
folded up smelling delicious, all before lighting the bonfire).

Crocuses, snowdrops, daffodils and hellebores in flower; and daphne
bholua J Postill is still covered in scented flowers (since
Chgristmas).

Not any damage I've found yet luckily. Lost a lot of the old leaves on the
big Cordyline but that's good.


Still waiting for our allotment soil to dry our so we can start working it
and do some hoeing. Daren't tread on it at the moment it's so wet I'm sure I
could throw pots with it.
Got to get all the Leeks up and dumped as they have this "new" Onion Fly and
are unusable. What with that and Leek Moth a veg that was one of the easiest
to grow has become almost impossible in just a few years. We will try again
this season but will have to time sowing to when the fly will be between
hatchings and then cover with enviromesh if that is possible on an allotment
with foxes about. Certainly fleece is just a toy for them to rip up
overnight.

I'm still here ... just never all there at a time!:~)).

I have been doing some gardening (pruning and clearing mostly). I got
way behind over the autumn period due to some sort of upper respiratory
tract problem - only able to sit with a blanket and cat on my lap:~((.
Better now, but still short of breath.

As to storm damage, I appear to have lost my Kerria jap.'Guinea Gold',
which I really liked for its spring flowers. I shall watch to see if
anything comes back from the crown, but may plant another one elsewhere
anyway in a more sheltered spot.
