Garlic

I thought my garlic leaves were just turning brown, starting to
die of. But when I looked at them, they appear to start with
yellow sport, with a bright red bit in the centre. This seems
to expand across the leaves and merge, the red colour fading.
The bulbs look OK, although I've not pulled one or dug around
to check. Can not find anything on the internet.

As this is the first time I've grown garlic in this garden, and
I've no idea what the soil is like, I just wonder if everything
is OK.

Thanks

Sadly it sounds like rust, there is one specific to all members of the
Allium family and its difficult to get rid of. I had to give up growing
onions, leeks and chives because of it.

Rust, get it every year, some times it damages the crop this year it
arrived too late.
