Default Storing apples - odd rot

Anybody know why this is happening?

It isn't the core, and it isn't the outside - somewhere in between.

Looks a bit like a mild case of Bitter Pit but I am no fruit expert, its
caused by mineral imbalance and is often triggered by very wet seasons,
if you look it up it will tell you what you can do to improve things

We're on a chalky clay. I'll keep an eye on the watering next year.

Thanks
