Trollius from seed

I'm growing trollius from seed without much luck. Out of a whole seed
packet only 4 germinated and one of those has subsequently died. One
is doing very well and has been repotted onto the kitchen windowsill
but is growing very slowly. Is this normal for trollius? Any tips?

What kind of Trollius is it? I grew Trollius europaeus from seed some
time ago and, although I don't remember exactly, I reckon it must have
taken at least two years to reach flowering size.

Trollius is among the hardier plants. I suggest that you harden
off your survivors and put them outside. They'll be much happier
in the cooler temperature.

I wonder if you tried to germinate them in the usual warmth-and-
moisture environment you give annuals? Myself, if I sowed
trollius about this time of year, I'd put the pot outside in a
shady, sheltered spot (i.e. a frame), and not expect much until
next spring.

Great, thanks so much everyone! Yes, I've been pampering them to
death with moisture and warmth. Outdoors and hardiness it is for the
little beggars now.
