Default Soaker hose

Anyone using or has used them? There seem to be varying reviews, perhaps
depending on the quality of the hose.

So any recommendations, or avoid at all costs?

I have a number of lengths which I bought from various ebay
suppliers over the years. They work pretty well as expected. The
material is a little fragile, and can split, especially if you
tread on it, and it gets more brittle with age.

I have a stock of straight joins for mending, but it can be quite
frustrating as you chase back along the pipe to a point that will
take the fitting without splitting.

I use mine with a Hozelock pressure reducer and timer.

When we totally redesigned our garden a few years ago I laid a seep
hose all around so watering the beds is just one turn of a tap. Cannot
recommend it highly enough.

I have tried various sorts, the ones that start flat and go round as
water pressure pushes down them are prone to kinking and growing over in
winter while not in use then not inflating the next year the solid road
stuff leak "Leaky Hose" works really well but does damage easily if you
are too enthusiastic with gardening next to it! I have it on battery
operated timings in the fruit cage and use it in newly planted areas

Thanks for the replies. I'll have to get some as I reckon these long dry
spells are here to stay.
