Once again they seem to be refusing to germinate in the drill on our
allotment. Anyone tried planting the seeds in pots and transplanting?

Why not try those small plugs? you should be able to get them in the
ground without causing any root disturbance

ground without causing any root disturbance

Have you tried sowing in compost in a length of guttering (i.e. normally
next to your roof). Then when you ready dig similar shaped 'groove'
where you want them to grow put the guttering in it then carefully slide
it out and water Tada!

Yes intended to use use Rootrainers now I have some spare, should be
even better. It's new seeds too.
