Hepatica Nobilis (HPS)
Did anyone else have the Hepatica Nobilis seeds from The Hardy Plant
Society? I have a pot of seedlings but they are definitely not Hepatica Nobilis. A bright clear green oval leaf, slightly velvety. Last year a packet of Polemonium species turned out to be Penstemon species. I didn't mind that and have some superb plants now. Iris McCanna -- (All outgoing messages certified virus free) |

I'm pretty sure Hepatica nobilis has to be sown absolutely fresh, so probably wouldn't work from Seed Exchange seed. Janet G |

I've had reasonable, sometimes good, results from exchange seed of Hepatica. I always give it a long soak before sowing, up to two or even three weeks and it can take a year to emerge, but it's by no means the hopeless case it's often made out to be. -- Rodger Whitlock Victoria, British Columbia, Canada |
