Gypsum and clay soil

well after much reading around on info to improve our clay soil, I found a
useful info with step by step instructions on the uk.rec.gardening
website... they recommend adding in plaster for it gypsum content to
floculate the clay... have tried it out yesterday, and planted my tomatoes,
so I guess time well tell.

Thanks for those of you that offered advice.

kind regards
Bruce

Gypsum has much the same effect as lime when it comes to flocculation,
but the soil doesn't become alkaline as it does with lime, so it's
also a good method if you're wanting to grow rhododendrons, heathers,
camellias etc.
