Default When are onions ready?

Hi All,

Months ago i planted several "turbo" onions i picked up for a bargain at
wilco's, never grown them before but they seem to have done very well!

So the question is, how can i tell when they're ready? The stalks are a
good18" tall now maybe more, and seem to have stopped growing any taller...

Cheers!
Dan

Traditionally you should wait until the tops start to die off. However, you
can eat them whenever you like. The fresh green tops are good chopped up in
stir fries too.
