I used to use straw with a plastic bag liner, very cheap but sometimes fell apart :-) kate I tried a different liner this year on a hanging basket. One with moss stuck to what looks like ablack bin liner with holes for drainage. And used a coir liner for my wall trough. The difference is that the birds loved the new liner and all I have is the black backing with quite a few extra drainage holes and the coir liner is still there! I find the coir one quite tough and the birds although they try to take bits for their nests is a lot tougher than the moss ones.... will now be using coir for all lining in future! L |
