If you get a good one it will look after you in the best possible fashion.
Morning tea at exactly the right time and the boiled eggs are spot on. Times
will be neatly ironed and your choice of clothing neatly laid out.
I miss old Jeeves
With apologies and definitely tongue in cheek.

Jeyes is a very good dis I nfectant. That is what it does. Disinfects
things. Exactly what it says on the bottle. Has done for the last 3.5
million years. Killed off the dinosaurs, y'know!

Powerful aroma. I find a dab behind the ears at bedtime works wonders.
Haven't been bitten by a mozzie in years.

If it's good enough for men's public toilets, it should be good enough
for dogs. :-)

One thing to avoid:
If you leave plastic plant pots soaking in a strong solution of Jeyes it
destroys the plastic - as I discovered to my cost!

perhaps it's a tonic too?

"The Healing Professions - Now Wash Your Hands
Jeyes Fluid used nurses to advertise their product from 1887 to 1890.

John Jeyes produced his disinfectant as a response to the poor social
conditions created by poverty, disease and pollution in 19th-century
Britain.

In addition to its value as an external disinfectant, the medical
profession adopted Jeyes Fluid because it had no ill effects when
swallowed by their patients.

It was also used to ward off plague in Africa: ' Dead rats should not
be handled until boiling water with Jeyes Fluid is thrown over them'.

which states

Tar acids, an active ingredient of two general-purpose disinfectants
with plant protection properties, are also on the withdrawn list.
Rumour had it that Jeyes Fluid was going to disappear from the market
rather than opt for expensive retesting.

In fact, the company has dropped claims from its packaging that Jeyes
Fluid can be used to kill moss and lichen, and for soil sterilisation.
So gardeners can carry on using it for sterilising the greenhouse
staging, cleaning slippery paths, disinfecting tools and pots, and all
those other unpleasant jobs for which is it perfect.

Armillatox is another a tar-acid disinfectant that could stay on sale
provided it is marketed for purposes other than plant protection. But
as one of the few effective fungicides against honey fungus and with
proven effects on vine weevils, the manufacturer does not want to back
down.

So Jeyes Fluid *will* still be available.
