SW london, others in the area do fine so long term I'm happy it will be
happy.

But.... is it ok to plant now, or should I wait till spring. I'll be
planting a large specimen '~2m

I have 3, planted as 2m trees a few autumns ago in *my* sheltered SW London
garden and they've been absolutely fine. And I'm not a great gardener, so
anything that thrives with me is pretty well indestructible. We do have
pretty good drainage, which helps.
