Hi All

I am interested in one of these, but there are numbers after model - Felco
2, 5, 7, 8 and so on. What are these numbers for, and which number is most
useful for general cutting? The other question is, these Felcos seems very
pricey comparing other makes - is it worth buying these rather than cheaper
models?

different models have different features, eg, rotating handle, lefties
model, smaller sized etc..

They are the finest secetuers money can buy.. And are the 'industry
standard' according to many (inc myself) Invest in some, unless you are
always losing tools in which case buy cheap 'lookalikes' and replace as
needed.
In a word. 'yes' they are worth buying.

Agree completely, I've recovered client's pairs from the bottom of a well
rotted compost heap. A good clean and a bit of oil and back good as new.

I have had a pair of Felco 5 for years they are superb for most jobs
around my 1/4 acre of shrubs perenials fruit bushes etc and have outlasted
all the rest
They are expensive but worth every penny not only in strength and lasting
ability but in ease of use

Fantastic blades and keep going forever. Had mine for 7 years and
although they dont look like new they certainly work like they are.

Yes and I dunno if they still do but they used to give a lifetime guarantee for non pro use. You can service them
yourself but if sent to the importers for service they come back like new. Although I'm cack handed I got used to
the 'Old' No 2 and I still think they're the best though I do use the lefty ones at work now.

Take a look here Dan www.felco.ch explains a little about each model.
Also there's a couple of pairs listed on ebay at the moment (not listed my
me) model 2 and 5 I think.

Thanks PA and all who replied to this question.
The web site and forum discussions were very helpful, which made me a bit
easier in making the decision.
Now I have ordered a Felco 5 - which is the cheapest in the range, but
hopefully this will be a good buy for me.
