A day in the life of a dog who happens to be born in China.
 

Activists from several animal rights organizations in Taiwan inspected
Hualien dog pound on February 8, 10, and 14 and found that the dogs
were in such a wretched state of hunger that they had resorted to
cannibalism. No food or water had been provided to them. When the
footage taken by these activists hit the media, two pound workers were
fired. However, unless widespread changes are made in the shelter
facilities, care and feeding of the dogs, and basic handling skills of
the shelter staff, homeless dogs in Taiwan will continue to suffer
needlessly.

That is a seriously sickening clip. These poor animals were actually eaten
alive.

What motivates people to allow this type of thing to happen? One can call
them all the names under the sun, but I suppose the only constructive thing
we can do is to keep throwing money in the diretion of PETA.

It really typifies how bad life can get IF we let it, that poor dog
could do nothing to save itself from those stronger than itself, but
we certainly can, we can ensure it did not die in vain, if it gives us
the motivation to carry on the fight helping animals, including
ourselves that desperately need someone to stand up for them. To
expose the reality of animal abuse, on reflection it makes our lives &
problems seem petty in comparison.

Something we could do with remembering, lets not forget where our
efforts should be aimed.
