What is it they say about the internet? If you cant actually put up a

Check your own spelling!

You have never heard gunfire or a bomb then? They sound very
different.

I was living about 3/4 mile from the bomb at Bristol university a few
years back. I heard it and knew straight away that it was *not* a
firework. It wasn't loud just far more percussive. The same applies to
gunfire. I was also in Birmingham seeing Spike Milligan when the Pub
Bombs went off, again it sounded different to thunder or big
firework(s).

from another point of view I know a blind girl with a guide dog, which gets
that scared of fireworks they have to use tranquillisers to calm the dog
down, they may have to retire the dog which she has had for years!!If there
aren't any set times how can she go out & be safe!I don't mind fireworks on
the 5th November & new years eve,but that should be it.after all isn't it
guy fawkes night, not month or in alot of cases months. How can you compare
a bbq with fireworks,I know you put bangers;-)(sausages) on a bbq,but there
is no comparison! You are a TOSSER if you set fireworks off other than 5th
nov & new years eve & after 9pm.This isn't a attack on anyone in the group
unless you apply to this. You will understand if you have kids & pets or any
decency in you!Mind you some of the nesbits who have there kids up at all
hours, nowadays! no wonder society is like it is.I will now get of the soap
box,but I am sure this isn't the last word on the matter!!
thanks all kenty

That's the difference then - you are lucky enough not to have experienced
what it's been like for most of us for the past few years. It used to be ok
but it sure isn't now, it's gone completely OTT.

Of course it is. A son bought £80 worth of boxed fireworks (as ASDA prices)
for £16 at his wholesaler. What sort of profit is that? That is
commercialism. You can make your own Christmas cards, you can't easily make
your own fireworks.

I did predict it. Honest, I did.

Rubbish! How can you predict something that was posted two hours before

you
made your prediction?

By the simple procedure of not sitting continuously at the computer reading
posts, and by the natural delays which sometimes occur in the transmission
of posts.
I did predict it, honest I did.

My spelling is perfect. Absolutely perfect. What I suffer from is finger

No. As I said in another post, my spelling is 100% correct. I just like to
generate the illusion of bad spelling by careful manipulation of my typos.

I am not "lucky". I live where I do because I worked hard and bought my way
out of a council estate in an inner city!

I left there because I couldnt stand the almost daily intimidation, thefts ,
vandalism . Its not Halloween or bonfire night that creates this problem ,
its a 24/7/365 problem.
People who blame bonfire night are just looking for a scapegoat for what is
actually a wider social problem.

As for my animals , they were fine. I have yet to have a "terrified

animal"
on Bonfire night or the nights that suround it! Are you sure your not
reading your feelings into their behaviour?

I was caught in a traffic jam and didn't get home 'till after dark.
Our Newfoundland, who is terrified by bangs, had broken through the fence
trying to find an escape from the bangs and flashes. My neighbour had taken
him in and was trying to comfort him.

Fireworks on Nov 5th, Diwali and New Years Eve we can cope with - and enjoy.
But it's been like the blitz here from the last few days of October, with
fireworks going off in all directions EVERY SINGLE NIGHT.

I'm no spoil-sport, but if parents can't exercise control and persuade kids
that fireworks are for special occasions, then the law must.
