time to sort out the trees?
 

i've decided that some trees in the garden need a good tidy. one's a
cherry (that you cant eat), some untidy laurels that need bringing down
lower and a strange conifer that's shot up through the foliage of another
tree, without anyone noticing.

will it be all right at this time of year to get someone in to do a bit of
light sawing and clipping?

In my experience you can't get rid of laurel - even by digging down two feet
to clear the roots.

Pear is difficult too unless you grub out the roots.

But if you only want to keep it tidy - and do the work every yer - then you
should be OK. but remember it's EVERY year ...

Careful with the Cherry. The wounds will not heal so well at this time and
as Spring time is the peak Bacterial Canker season you are putting your tree
as most risk.

Summer is the best time to prune Cherries both ornamental or fruiting.

thanks for the replies. i'll leave the cherry till next summer, and get the
rest seen to now.
