weeding
I read somewhere that it is a waste of time doing serious weeding before
March. Could this be possible as it all looks so uninviting out there ? Nap |

: before March. : Could this be possible as it all looks so uninviting out there ? : Nap No the sooner you get rid of the weeds the less chance there is of them seeding. With the ground having dried out a bit this week it's an ideal time to hoe off the top. I should collect up the bits you hoe off though and compost as they won't die off as they would in the summer sun. Aso it's no good going on the ground if it's tooo wet as it ruins the soil structure Robert South West England |

I've been wasting my time this morning then :-) If soil and weather conditions permit, now's the time to hit the winter weed crop before they flower or seed, and save yourself harder work later on. @newsg4.svr.pol.co.uk: I read somewhere that it is a waste of time doing serious weeding before March. Could this be possible as it all looks so uninviting out there ? Uninviting? Frost sparkling on the grass, mist in the valley, warm in the sun, but not too warm to work, all the bulbs just starting into growth, and the snowdrops shining? I've almost forgotten how to be a housewife; fortunately, my husband is there to remind me! Spider |
