Ours were bought from the garden centre and stuck in a spare raised bed in
the fruit cage.
The bed was filled with ordinary compost and horse muck.
No special care given. No problems experienced.

Highly acid soil (pH around 4.0), never dry, at least two
cultivars since they are self-sterile.

And they seem to do better with some summer warmth; otherwise the
berries tend to tartness rather than sweetness.

I have seen nothing about superfood - but I do grow Vaccinium corymbosum
otherwise known as blueberry. Bought two bushes about 7 years ago and
they produce about 3-4lbs fruit each year. I have them in an 8inch
raised bed which I annually dress with ericaceous(sp?) compost. I've
experienced few problems with them so far. Leaves turn the most
wonderful red colour in autumn. I'd grow them for that alone.

Plant with the roots at the bottom.

In fertile peaty acid moist soil (such as west Scotland) they do very well.

Billberrys/whortleberries/etc. grow wild on the moors all over the UK AFAIK.

So the Blueberry should hopefully be O.K. as well.
However it does need acid soil.

I had some years ago which were not doing well (unsuitable soil) but they
still produced some berries until a garden wall blew down on them in a gale
:-(

May yet try again, this time in a large pot.

They grow very well in planters, in acid peat.

If you have an acid soil, plant them out. Keep well watered.

They will only grow in acid soil
