Sowing seed

Hi,

I have dug four 10x4ft plots for planting veg. I have already planted
some Premiere 1st early potatoes last weekend in one of them and I want
to plant some Red Baron onions, Little Gem, Lollo Rossa and Mizuna.

The Red Baron onion seed has been sown in the greenhouse in a tray and
has a transparent lid on the tray to help with germination. My question
is, should I sow some of the salad leaves directly into the ground now,
or into trays in the greenhouse? On the packet it says sow outside
March-May.

Thanks.

You need to sow the *seed* outside straight into the ground from
march-may. If you put young plants outside now, the next frost will kill
them.

OK, so would you recommend that I sow them in the greenhouse now in pots
to plant out in May, or sow them straight into the ground now?

Older Molly, I'm intrigued by this signature to your posts. Should there

Lol, no. They are books I recommend to people on the parrot newsgroups
I sunscribe to. My sig thingy has gone haywire and, instead of not
putting the signature in unless I ask it to, it went putting into all my
posts, thus confusing anyone without a parrot.
