120° symmetry
I've got these sunflower seedlings - most of which like the one in the
bottom of the picture have two cotyledons and paired leaves. http://www.skipweasel.pwp.blueyonder...es/trifold.jpg However, one, as you can see had three cotyledons and has triple leaf sets. They're exactly like ordinary sunflower leaves - only spaced 120° round the stem. Is this unusual in sunflowers? I've never seen it before. -- "Bother", said Skipweasel as he molished a little jig. |
