short broad beans

I planted broad beans Aquadulce in November. This is the first time I've
grown winter ones. They are up and flowering now, but much shorter than the
ones I grew last summer. The tallest of the lot is only about 15" tall.

Is this a feature with winter types, or would someone care to speculate why?

TIA
Steve

They should reach around 4ft, depending on how many flowers you allow before
you pinch out the tips.
They'll do a lot more growing yet, producing flowers as they go.
