hi, my wheel barrow has a tubeless tyre that is completely flat. since it is
not pressed up against the wheel rim it will not pump up. how to get it to
stick to the rim to get it started, please? thanks john west

If you are using a little pump or foot pump it is more difficult.
Make a tourniquet around it. Either a rope and a screwdriver or a ratchet
strap would do nicely. The normal way is with an air line, take the valve
stem out, push the tyre down aginst the ground and against a wall at the
same time while inflating. Another method with an airline is to try to
inflate and bang the whole wheel on the ground (upright wheel, not sideways)

Take the tyre off and refit it with an innertube. Should be OK at the speeds
a wheelbarrow travels at.

I had the same problem, gave up and got an inner tube for the tyre.

This has arisen before. The best solution was to remove the wheel and take
to a tyre specialist. They will be happy to oblige and will probably not
charge. Just a matter of goodwill.

I had the same problem, gave up and got an inner tube for the tyre.

I used a smear of Vaseline, but you don't need to know that now! :~) the
inner tube would have been quicker, less messy and easier to repair in
future, there are times when being a man can be a definite disadvantage!!

Perhaps you could do what those crazy Icelanders do. To reinflate the low
pressure tyres on their glacier crossing super jeeps they spray butane
lighter fuel into them and then apply a lighter. The ensuing explosion blows
the tube out and onto the rim with enough residual pressure to keep it
there. I'm almost 100% certain that it wouldn't work on a wheelbarrow tyre
but it would be fun trying :-)
