medium sized tree to replace two sycamores.........

Ive finally decided the two sycamores in the middle of our garden are too
big for the space and will get rid of them later this year, but what tree of
a more managable size could I replace them with, something good for birds
ect. we already have rowan lower down the garden.

What sorts of trees do you like? Evergreen or deciduous?

How about an apple tree, or something more unusual like a ginkgo or
mulberry ?
