Default cleome collapse

--
Delete SPOILER to reply.

My previous query has been flooded out by gobbledystuff so I am trying
again.

I have planted a succession of cleomes that I have grown from seed and
potted on, but they keep collapsing on me, (welll not literally) apparently
failing at base of stem. Each succesive planting they are a little stouter,
due to passage of time, but they still have problems keeping vertical.
All other annuals I have grown are doing fine in similar conditions.
I have not allowed any Swiss referees into my garden.

Thanks,

Sue
