That happems when you inject Sodium Chlorate into the trunk. You wouldn't
happen to have a neighbour who is not so keen on having his garden
excellently screened would you?

Leylandii is prone to lower areas of the branches browning off . That is
hastened by the bottom section being covered by reason of a low wall or
fence right alongside it or suchlike. Nowt you can do but suffer it, - the
Leylandii has grown high enough to not need those bottom branches
Casual observation.:-
At a certain nursery near here the fence which stands alongside the roadside
border is 40 feet high.

Ignore for the time being the impending proposed Govt.alteration to the laws
regarding high tree border fences , which particularly highlights the
Leylandii. It appears each year on the agenda, but it is always squeezed
off the agenda by being deliberately "Talked Out" of the allotted time by
"More Important Issues". It has already yet again been squeezed out for
this year, as usual.
Who is at the back of it?. Not me. I haven't got high Leylandii fences
nor have I got a big bank balance or an Estate
to live in, nor have I any political punch. P.S I have recently planted a
Leylandii fence six feet high and growing well in my front, from house to
low street wall. It is to blot out the thuggish neighbours from hell,
(Led by the foul-mouthed Mother) who have recently moved in.
God bless the new Harassment and the new Noise Abatement Laws. After a year
of hell sleeping on a mattress on the boxroom floor I am at last in my own
bed again. That reminds me , - I must remember to apply some more
Phostrogen out front - tomorrow, without fail.
