Revisited - The good, the bad....
 
Last Friday I mentioned that Puya alpestris was coming into flower in
my garden. The link below takes you to a pic of the spike, which is
now carrying plenty of open flowers. Each one is 3" long and over 2"
across.

Fantastic photograph, David and yes, that's the one we saw on Tresco 10 days
ago. BTW, Mike Nelhams the Abbey Gardens Curator was here yesterday on his
way up to Tatton Park - to our pleasure he found quite a few things they
didn't have! It was nice to be able to give him something in return for all
the cuttings and seeds he's given us. One of them was the 'famous'
Passiflora quadrangularis he's been trying to find for ages!
