Default Croton losing leaves

I noticed today that my croton, bought three weeks ago and re-potted the
same day, had dropped two leaves and several other leaves are starting
to "corkscrew" up.

The same thing happened to the croton I bought last year until
eventually it ran out of leaves and died.

I have nearly twenty other plants in the flat, all of them healthy, and
normally have no trouble keeping plants alive but I must be doing
something wrong with the crotons.

The care instructions specify constant temperature (10-21C), good
natural light, avoid draughts and direct sunlight, and water when
compost is slightly dry. I have followed these instructions to the
letter, but it looks like this one is going to die as well.

Anyone have any advice, I don't want to lose another one!
