Default Tomato and Potato waste

Is it safe to put dead potato and tomato plants and green or rotten
tubers/fruit onto the compost heap?

Thanks

I never put tomato or potato tops in the compost heap in case they spread
disease but I'm sure others will say it's fine. I'm not taking a chance
whatever they say lol

Yes, provided they have shown no sign of disease.

Probably, as long as you don't use the compost on your potatos or tomatos. I
do it.
